The start of a new school year always brings a mix of emotions — excitement, nerves, hope. But this year feels heavier. Our city is still hurting from the recent tragedy at an elementary school, and like so many parents, I’m sending my kids back with a heart that’s both proud and anxious.

These back to school photos of my own kids mean more than usual this year. They represent resilience, courage, and the simple but powerful act of moving forward. We’re holding space for the families affected, while also choosing hope and pushing for meaningful change in the days ahead.
