I always say that I should have a disclaimer when you book an outdoor session with me that YOU WILL HAVE TO TOUCH NATURE, meaning that we will be trudging through plants and long grasses. I generally make a small path to walk through, have something for clients to sit on, and I do my very best to make sure that I am being responsible about the areas we use, so we aren’t destroying nature in the process, but just know that you may get a little dirt or some seeds on you during your session. Being IN nature is good for us and it’s BEAUTIFUL in photos! Plus, kids can often be more cooperative and have more genuine emotion/interactions when they are outside.
My favorite places to shoot tend to be places with a lot of NATIVE plants because they have great texture, variety, and hardiness. I can count on a native field to have beautiful plants throughout year. I just love how the these plants help frame my clients and bring so much beauty to each image. The texture, the colors, the depth, the emotions, the interactions… Gah! I love it all!
